You could say that the term "mercenary" is used improperly on this website, because we're not working for material gain. What we are working for though is individuality, originality, something different than the masses produce. Here you have the works of two people, self-taught, competing with a generation of people inspired by the ideals of what looks "good." Well, we don't care about what looks "good", we care about what looks better.
